The New Land Rover Defender Will Soon Be Released

There is good news for all the fans of Land Rover Defender. The iconic car is going to be redesigned and released in 2018. It is promised to be the most technically advanced Land Rover’s model, which ideologically will save the values of original Defender.

The first prototype of the Defender was created in 1947. Year later, the first series of production was introduced to the market. When people had realized that this car can handle any kind of rough terrain on their way, Defender became quite a sensation. After several substantial updates (Series II and Series III) the large-scale manufacturing started in 1983.

Since its early years, the Land Rover Defender was always loved for its outstanding off-road driving experience. However, it was not performing the same well when driven on a road. As the chief designer of the British car brand, Jerry McGovern, has stated, in order to recoup the funds invested in designing the new model of 2018, it should be sold in large quantities.

He has also outlined the role of the Land Rover Defender in company’s history by saying: "This was a vehicle that for a very long time was the emotional core of our brand. In order to move our brand forward, we need to create desirable and relevant vehicles to appeal to a wider group of customers."

The new Defender will get smoother edges than the previous model had. At the same time, the new aerodynamic shape of it will be complemented with the 3-doors body style. Both standard and extended wheelbase are supposed to be offered in this model.

The aluminum construction of updated Defender will make the model more lightweight, when independent suspension will add flexibility to the car. As soon as the range of Land Rover engines is quite broad, we can talk that the new Defender may get any engine from supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and 3.0-liter V6 up to the new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder one, where for all engines both diesel and gas versions will be available.

The new Defender is expected to be supplied with Land Rover’s All-Terrain Progress Control, Hill Descent Control and Terrain Response systems to provide drivers with the versatile driving options and superior comfort. The completion of these functions will give undeniable competitive advantages to the newly designed SUV.

The advancements of the updated model have to appeal to both familiar audience and the young generation of drivers. However, there are still a lot of faithful fans of the classical time-tested Defender of genuine design. While respecting the traditions and values of British automaker, UKARAUTO online store offers the full range of Land Rover Defender Spare Parts And Accessories.
